Shemonyl is Crowned as Miss Global International the global stage at Miss Global World 2024 in Dubai. Her path to this prestigious event has been marked by hard work and an enduring commitment to self-improvement. Beyond her pageantry, Shemonyl is a multifaceted personality with a background in International Economics, a national Taekwondo athlete, and a certified pet groomer. Her diverse interests, from martial arts to baking, reflect her dynamic approach to life. Shemonyl embodies the spirit of a true modern-day beauty queen, breaking barriers and setting new standards.
Here is an excerpt from our Interview with her:
• Tell us a bit about yourself & about your professional journey so far!
I would describe myself as an artistic, quirky, and passionate person. Since a young age, I have been inclined toward beauty pageants.
During my school days, I began my pageant journey, participating in various regional contests, and my association with the Teen Princess contest in 2017 polished me; it motivated me to dream big and prepared me to try for more recognized pageants.
I am super excited and fully prepared to represent my country internationally this year by participating in Miss Global World in Dubai after my win as the titleholder of Miss India International by Milestone Pageants, which was held in Bangkok.
• What’s your breakthrough moment growing up?
Talking about my breakthrough moment, it is definitely the moment when I discovered the Miss Universe pageant and became an avid pageant watcher, imagining myself as one of the contestants.
Watching Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu, the winner of Miss Universe 2021, encouraged me to follow my pageant dream of becoming a beauty queen and representing my country internationally on the Miss Universe platform.
• How do you deal with social media pressure and keep up with the latest fashion trends?
My approach to social media is very realistic; I take it with a grain of salt and don’t go overboard with social media. I use it to express my individuality and connect with like-minded individuals. When it comes to keeping up with fashion trends, I follow my own instincts, take inspiration from various pages,and don’t follow any trend blindly just because it’s trending.
• What is your take on the beauty pageants & entertainment industry?
I can vouch for the fact that beauty pageants are not just about appearance, glitz, and glamor; it is not a smooth sail to win a beauty pageant ( speaking from my experience). I personally believe that the pageant platform empowers individuals to go beyond their comfort zone and actively voice their opinions on strong issues.
A tremendous amount of hard work, preparation, grooming, and patience are required to be part of the pageant; it requires beauty with brains to become a beauty queen, the former Miss Universe winners are a living proof of it!
Now the pageants have become multidimensional, and the contestants are expected to work on charity activities, their fitness, social media presence ,communication skills, networking, rampwalk, and diction skills.
• How do you deal with setbacks in your life?
I am a very optimistic individual and strongly believe that setbacks in life make us grow and go beyond our comfort zone. It is a necessary facet for personality development and all about the right perspective.
Personally, I have dealt with quite a few setbacks and also conquered them successfully. Presently, I am facing some issues relating to my pageant outfit finalization, as it didn’t turn out as I expected it to, and now last minute alternation needs to be done, as there are only a few weeks left for my international pageant journey to commence.
Also, related to my skin condition vitiligo, I continue to face many setbacks, but my unwavering trust within myself keeps me motivated, and I aspire to challenge the beauty standards placed on women that are unrealistically unachievable.
• How do you envision your journey in the showbiz industry?
I have always wanted to influence others’ lives and leave a positive impact by breaking beauty stereotypes.
The pageantry world is where all my focus lies at the present. I envision my journey as a pageant groomer/ coach and am passionately willing to help aspiring models/ pageant aspirants with industry unfiltered insights.
Talking about my interest in acting, I’m keeping an open mind. While showbiz is not my focus right now, I love going beyond my comfort zone and always open to trying new things. Who knows? The future might hold surprises.
