How Nialy Agarwal Established An Organisation To Feed The Poor People
2018 became the most difficult year for Nilay Agarwal and made him think about the uncertainty of life. He realised the unpredictability and how things could take a total turn. He lost his friend that year which changed his perspective on life. Hence, the things he had kept pending for a long time, became his priority realising the harsh reality of time and life.
Nilay always found himself having a bend towards social work. However, this was one of the things he had been postponing. After losing his friend, he decided to get into it without any further delay.
He established an organisation for social work with the purpose of helping the poor. Most importantly, he named the organisation after his friend Vishalakshi Foundation.
What made Nilay Agarwal start Vishalakshi Foundation?
Since Nilay always had the urge to get into social work, he set himself for thorough research. It was then that he came to learn that in India, 7000 people lose their lives every day because of starvation. Above all, there are 3000 children out of these 7000 who die.
This learning had a great impact on Nilay. He couldn’t believe moreover how everybody could ignore it and no steps were taken to make these conditions better for these people. He furthermore stated in an interview that no child should be sleeping on an empty stomach. Children should not be deprived of their basic rights. They have all the right to live a healthy and memorable childhood.
Ever since he learnt the reality of the poor dying of hunger, he has made it his mission to make India free from starvation.
How does Vishalakshi Foundation work?
Nilay proved his concern and dedication to the cause when on his birthday he walked 30 km to feed the hungry people. It was a full sunny day of summer in Delhi the day he paid the distance of 30 km on foot. He was noticed by many young people that day who joined him and initiated to lend hands in feeding. There were more than 1500 people who joined him and they fed over 10,000 people that day.
Nilay’s initiative that day was furthermore noticed by Ranchi, Lucknow, Varanasi, Pulwama, and Simdega. Till now he has fed over 1 million hungry people under his organisation. Moreover, Nilay’s organisation worked during the COVID-19 lockdown by distributing more than 45,000 ration packets to the needy.
Vishalakshi Foundation is recklessly active ever since the day it has been established to do the supposed job. And, it has proved itself by the hard work and dedication that it is keeping its purpose alive and serving to its fullest.
