She is 79 years old and started her business out of efforts to stay active. Mrs Kokila Parekh has a secret recipe for chai masala which has been passed on to her from her ancestors. Her secret chai masala had a different charm in her family and friend circle. Moreover, Mrs Parekh would prepare the masala and serve the tea to her guests with the utmost dedication which added an extra taste!
Her magic chai masala had a huge demand around her circle. The relatives would call her to make them more as soon as they would finish it. Apart from preparing the chai masala, Mrs Parekh had a simple routine and yet it kept her busy and active all day. Besides she was known for being active with her family and friends apart from her secret masala.
Every day she would wake up, go to a nearby temple, contribute to the household chores, visit her friends in the evening, and so on. However, when the lockdown happened, her activities were limited. And since she loved living an active life, the lockdown changed things for her. She was then struck by the idea of making the chai masala in bulk and starting to sell it around the country.
She was confident about her idea and chai masala that would do good. Moreover, her family supported her throughout the whole process.

Mrs Parekh named her business KT Chai Masala after her and her youngest son’s name (Kokila and Tushar’s Chai Masala). Mrs Parekh had her children starting and running the venture. For example, her youngest son helped her in designing the logo, sourcing good quality raw materials from vendors, and the right type of packaging for the masala powder.
Moreover, her daughter-in-law helped her in getting the commercial mixing unit to grind the spices in large quantities. Of course, the taste and love she puts into her masala powder and the support of her children became the output of a successful business.
