Professor Rajani Paranjpe: Co-Founder of Doorstep School
Professor Rajani Paranjpe has a passion for children’s education. She, as a professional social worker had her hand in many social works. However, she realised over time that no other such work is needed as much as education is. She knew that education is the only single factor which could change the lives of underprivileged children and their families. The school is known as Doorstep School. Gradually, after some years, more than 750 faculty members joined. They then served almost 30,000 underprivileged children at the school. These children joined from construction sites and urban slum communities in the cities of Mumbai and Pune each year.
Apart from providing quality education to neglected children, Professor Paranjpe made other contributions as well in the field of education.
