What Happened?
A CRPF vehicle carrying jawans from the 187th Battalion met with a tragic accident as it skidded off the road and fell into a nallah (gorge) in the remote hilly area of Kandva–Basantgarh in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir. The incident occurred while the personnel were returning from an operation in Basantgarh.
Casualties
- Three CRPF personnel died on the spot due to the impact.
- Between 8 to 15 jawans sustained injuries, with varying reports on the exact count. The injured have been shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment.
