The best time to visit in Nagaland is between the months of October and May when the weather is pleasant, and the skies are clear. During this time, the temperature ranges between 10°C to 25°C, making it an ideal time to explore the state’s scenic beauty and cultural heritage. The months of December and January offer a unique opportunity to witness the Hornbill Festival, which is a celebration of this state’s rich tribal culture and traditions. However, it is important to note that this state experiences heavy rainfall during the monsoon season, which lasts from June to September, and travelling during this time may be challenging due to landslides and roadblocks.
Is Nagaland good for tourists?
Nagaland has the lowest crime rate in the country. The people living there have a amiable nature and are very welcoming. Is there any permit to visit Nagaland?
Foreign tourists can enter Nagaland freely (without any permits) – however, they need to register with the Foreigner’s Registration Officer (FRO) of the district they visit or the nearest Police Station within 24 hours of their arrival.
Indian tourists can now obtain the Inner Line Permit (ILP) by logging in to www.ilp.nagaland.gov.in. This permit is also available from the deputy commissioner offices in Nagaland House Located in Dimapur, Kohima, New Delhi, Shillong, Mokokchung, and Kolkata.
